Highlights from Orientation and Onboarding Week of the National Small Business Growth Cohort

Sharing my takeaways from each week of the program!

I wanted to take a minute to share some key insights and learnings from my recent Orientation and Onboarding Week in the National Small Business Growth Cohort. I'm so excited about his opportunity and I wanted to share as much as possible in case you might be interested in doing this program yourself - or just to give you something to think about related to growing your own business.

Here's what we covered in Orientation Week:

Understanding the History of Your Business and Writing Your Business Story:
Our journey began with reflecting on the history of our businesses and crafting our unique narratives. Understanding where we come from and articulating our story not only adds depth to our brand but also resonates with our audience, fostering stronger connections and trust.

Painting a Picture of What Your Ideal Business Looks Like:

Visualizing our ideal business was inspiring. By painting a clear picture of our aspirations and goals, we set a compelling vision that guides our actions and decisions, fueling our drive toward success.

Monitoring Business Metrics, Diagnostics, and Dashboard:
We delved into the importance of closely monitoring business metrics, understanding diagnostics, and setting up an effective dashboard. By regularly tracking key metrics, we can gain valuable insights into the health and performance of our business, enabling us to make informed decisions.

Key Metrics: What Metrics You Need to be Tracking:

Identifying and tracking the right metrics is crucial for success. We discussed the specific metrics relevant to our respective industries and business models, ensuring that we focus on what truly matters for our growth and sustainability.

Creating Your Exit Strategy:
(We have this course already offered for nurse entrepreneurs so that was extra cool that they reinforced how important this is to do at the start and not when it gets to be time to exit!)
Planning for the future includes preparing an exit strategy. We explored various exit options and discussed the importance of having a well-defined plan in place, whether it's scaling the business, passing it on to successors, or pursuing other ventures.

Thinking Ahead:

Lastly, we emphasized the importance of thinking ahead and anticipating challenges and opportunities. By adopting a proactive mindset, we can navigate uncertainties more effectively and position ourselves for long-term success.

The Orientation and Onboarding Week provided valuable insights and tools for building a solid business foundation. I'm excited to continue this journey together and see our businesses thrive. Next week is on you and your business, how you view your business, risks, resources and opportunities. So I'm looking forward to our next session!

Hope this helped get your gears turning - feel free to reply with any takeaways and if this was valuable for you!
